Impartiality Statement
CMA Certification Services understands the importance of impartiality and potential conflicts of interests in carrying out its certification activities.
CMA Certification provides certification services in an open, independent and impartial manner to existing and potential clients. All clients and applicants are treated equally and are expected to achieve the same level of performance and conformance to the relevant standards and processes.
CMA Certification Services ensures that decisions are based on objective evidence and conformity, obtained through a competent audit process in which decisions are not influenced by other interests or by other parties.
The Management and personnel (internal and external) involved in certification activities, are required to declare any conflict of interest or threats to CMA Certification Services’ undertaking of impartiality.
CMA Certification Services is controlled by a Board of Directors, which has appointed an Impartiality Committee responsible for ensuring that all certification activities are conducted in an impartial manner. The Committee includes representation from significant stakeholders but is structured in such a way that no single interest predominates. The Committee has the right to take independent action if CMA Certification Services’ senior management do not respect its advice. In addition CMA Certification Services conducts a risk assessment annually which is reviewed by the impartiality committee.
Conflict of Interest and objectivity is further covered through annual training sessions, and contractually binding agreements, to ensure all certification activities are conducted in an independent and impartial manner.

Henry Cockcroft
Henry Cockcroft accepted a position with the Concrete Manufacturers Association (CMA) in 2016 as Marketing Manager. In 2018 he got appointed as General Manager (registered Director), and as Executive Director for CMA Certification Services.
Christo van Zyl
Renowned and revered in the industry, Christo van Zyl is a subject matter expert in the fields of Quality Management Systems and Product Certification of conformance to the South African Nation Standards specification. He is a shareholder and Director of CMA Certification Services.
Francois Alberts
Francois Alberts is a Director of well established Rustenburg business CEMBlocks (Pty)Ltd, established in 1981. He brings an array of industry and business knowledge to CMA Certification Services, and he is the Chairman of the Impartiality Committee.
Werner Nel
Werner Nel is an experienced individual with a sound history of working in the car rental, tyre automotive, plastics production and conveyor equipment industries. He has been in the refractory and refractory precastings industry since 2020. Skilled in sales, manufacturing, management and design, implementation and continual improvement of Quality Management Systems.
Pierre Fourie
Pierre Fourie is a SHERQ and Technical manager at Zenzele Pavers and Cladding in Pretoria, with 14 years of experience in the quality environment of which nearly a decade is spent in the concrete paving industry. He is a CQI-IRCA Certified ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor from BSI Training Academy. Pierre Fourie is skilled in Quality Management Systems, Enterprise Risk Management, Operations Management, Safety, Health and Environment.
Wynand Jansen van Vuuren
Wynand Jansen van Vuuren is a experienced artisan in the Boiler Making and Mining Industry. In 2016 he joined well established precast producer CEMBlocks (Pty)Ltd. His responsibilities includes that of Laboratory Supervisor and Quality Controller.
CMA Certification Services (Pty) Ltd was registered in 2016 with registration number 2016/103170/07. CMA CS is a SANAS accredited Certification Body with accreditation numbers C75 and C75b.
