At least, the applicable specification should have been bought from the SABS. Knowledge should have been obtained about the requirements of the specification in terms of: QMS requirements, product quality requirements, testing requirements and procedures and sampling requirements.

A QMS is a formalised system that documents processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. The QMS manages the organisation's activities to meet quality requirements, customer satisfaction and regulatory requirement. The system assists in the improvement and effectiveness of the organisation on a continuous basis.

It is highly recommended to have an equiped, calibrated and functional on-site laboratory available to meet the testing requirenments of the specification. It is not viable to outsource all testing to and external laboratory.
